Kylie Minogue's 'Finer Feelings' Frenzy
On the 25th January K25 Officially kicked off. First we got to see the new revamped Kylie.com then at 7pm a Frenzy started on Twitter.
The reason?
To “Unlock” a newly recorded version of the song Finer Feelings fans had to Tweet #K25fans 25,000 times.
The 'Tweet To Unlock' idea is very unique. It works by counting every Trend in this case every “#K25fans” and translates them into an individual pixel and once the image is complete the page refreshes to show the video.
A little over an hour in and the image already had a clear view of Kylie but there was still a way to go
Only minutes after the turn of the hour Kylie Tweeted to announce that so many people were Tweeting that the server had crashed.
It was noticeable that once past the hour mark things were starting to slow down at 8:20pm although Kylie’s face was more visible, progress was slowing
At around 8:25pm Kylie posted another Tweet this time one of encouragement which sparked lots of fans to go for the final push.
Only a few more pixels!!!
At 8:3opm the Picture was complete and the full version was unlocked!
Well Done Everyone
Within minutes #k25fans became the number FOUR trending topic worldwide and number ONE trending topic in the UK.
